104th Stanford Financial Group US Open Championship Click for More Information First played in 1904 at Van Courtland Park, the U.S. Open Championship celebrated its centennial in 2004. One of the three great polo tournaments, along with the British and Argentine fixtures, the tournament attracts the finest players in the world for a month long competition. During the first half of the 20th century it was hosted in the Northeast, principally at Meadowbrook, moving in 1954 to Oakbrook, outside Chicago, where it stayed until 1978. The next eight tournaments were hosted by Retama, in San Antonio, where Memo Gracida recorded his first of a record 16 wins. Not the first in his family to do so, his father and three other Gracida's won the event for Mexico in 1946 at Meadowbrook. Set for 1987 at El Ddorado in Palm Springs, the next four Opens were played at the Horsepark, home to the USPA in Lexington. Since 1996, The U.S. Open Championship has called South Florida its home. It was here at International Polo Club Palm Beach in 2004 that Memo Gracida added to the Gracida family's combined record of 34 U.S. Open wins.
Tournament Dates: March 30 - April 20, 2008

Buccaneer Cup Sailfish Release Tournament Buccaneer Cup The Buccaneer Cup Sailfish Release Tournament is one of the oldest and most prestigious billfish tournaments in the country has taken a bold step for conservation and to protect the rights of saltwater anglers. Starting with the January 2006 competition, this tournament was 100% non-profit. All proceeds are donated to the Recreational Fishing Alliance.
As a political action organization for recreational saltwater fisherman, the RFA brings together a large grassroots membership along with a growing list of companies in the marine industry, including many of the leading boat and yacht builders, to form a powerful lobby with a full time staff of professionals engaged in the political and regulatory process.
Your participation in this years Buccaneer Cup will help us set a new standard for tournaments in the years to come. It will be first class in every way and will run concurrently with The Florida Fish For Life Caterpillar Cup to benefit Colon Cancer research. You have the option to fish one event or both, while benefiting two great causes.
Join us at The Sailfish Marina and prepare to fish with a greater purpose than ever before - to support the organization that is fighting for our fisheries and the very future of our sport.
